On platonic relationships with guys

I'm baffled.

Why is it that there are people out there who simply cannot accept the possibility that you can be "just friends" with a guy. Is the myth "men and women cannot be true friends" true?

These people will prod, phish, and pester you into *admitting* that there's romance between you and your guy friend. Pffft. Frankly, I'm getting tired of the questions, really.

Does it automatically mean romance if I enjoy some guy's company? Or is it even right to assume that I'm sleeping with him? It's bloody ridiculous!

I really don't get it.

  1. My best friend is female. We go out to restaurants, clubs, concerts and so on together.
People (friends) insist we should be a couple (if we're not secretly anyway).
I just enjoyed a holiday with her. It was fun, enjoyable and there was no sexual tension whatsoever....

Therefore: She must be a lesbian....

Laughs a little, but am glad I have her as a friend.....

  2. I'm glad I can be close to a girl without any romance involved. Coz I can use her as a double-agent into the female pschye! Mwahahaha! ;)

  3. Neil: Is she? Hahaha.

It's comforting to know that this sort of thing isn't happening to me because of me.

    Bust the myth!

Rico: Is this a recent realisation or you've known about this since you were a wee lad [which wasn't too long ago?]? Heehee.

That's one of the reasons why it's great to have a friend from the opposite sex --- espionage. Muahahaha.

  4. Realized it a few years ago. And it's been a while since I was a wee lad. :P

So what intel have you learned from me? ;)

  5. Rico: Oh, right. You're a man now. Hahaha!

Intel? What intel? I don't know what you're talking about! [Will never divulge my own intel even under extreme torture! Muahahaha!]
